NOTE: Starting in March, Bead Bunch has changed its meeting date and location to third Wednesday at Millwood Branch Library for 2019. Please contact Sandy Crow at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
For those who have decided to bead the Deb Moffett-Hall 12 Days of Christmas Stars, you have probably discovered that they use a lot of different colors and it’s hard to keep the letter designations straight as you work on these beauties. So, Cindy, Nancy, Kathy W, and Linda C collaborated on a method for identifying all those different beads as you work.
This month they will lead us in making an alphabet of pins to use with this yearlong project along with a decorative pin cushion to hold the pretty pins. Kits will contain the corsage pins, alphabet letter beads, and the box for the pin cushion. Participants will need to bring a fat quarter of fabric, thread to match, stitching needle, paper scissors, fabric scissors and 26 decorative beads, 4mm – 6mm in size. Kits will be $4.00 and the money will be collected at the meeting. Kits will include Pins, letter beads, box, glue, and stuffing. See June ASG newsletter for details and coupon.
In addition to making the bead marking pins and pincushions, we will revisit the topic on storage systems, corralling beads, etc. So, please bring samples of your storage systems, examples of how you corral your beads, and methods for keeping the A, B, C beads identifiable. We’ll share our methods and systems that keep are beads and bead-work organized.
You may bring your lunch and drink into the library providing it is not a hot meal, like pizza. Please plan on taking your refuse out, too. See you there!
