Georgetown Satellite – Finishing A Needlework Pin Drum (Cylinder)

February 3 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Phyllis Dawson will lead a program on finishing a needlework drum.  She will bring several pin drums that she has finished.  At this point, no two have been finished the same way as she has experimented from using instructions from various sources.  She will discuss some of these methods and why she use the ones she does.  She will walk you through the process she uses to finish a stitched pin drum.  If your project has instructions, please bring them and we can discuss any changes.  It is helpful to have the instructions for sizes, etc.

Items to Bring:
Stitched pin drum—can be top only, side only, or both OR if you don’t get anything stitched, bring fabric in the following sizes:  6” x 12” piece for the side strip and two coordinating 6” squares

Light weight fusible interfacing

Felt – wool felt is best but bring what you have in a color similar to the project

Mat board

Scrap of light weight cardboard (It can be a cereal box.)

Sewing thread to match project
