Historic Sampler Satellite via Zoom- Bristol Orphan Samplers
June 19 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join us as we learn about the history of Bristol Orphan Samplers, starting with the story of George Muller. He started an orphanage in response to the cholera epidemic in England in the 1830’s. He saved thousands of children from living on the streets, in the workhouses, and in most cases, an early death. As part of their education, the young girls learned to stitch and left behind a legacy of “Bristol Orphan Samplers”. Claudia is the owner of Dutch Treat Designs and an expert in Bristol Orphan Samplers.
