That Thing in July will be an “in-person”held on July 24th this year at the Hillcrest Baptist Church from 9 am to 4 pm.. There will be a Modena Lyons Scholarship Fund Holiday Ornament Exchange, Member’s stash sale, our monthly meeting, classes and MORE.

Registration deadline is July 6, 2021.
The first 40 members to register will receive a beautifully made needle minder by Leslie Howell. It’s red one on side and black on the other.  See June ASG newsletter for photo and registrations forms.

We have two great projects or studio time planned for you:
Covered Cushion
A pincushion designed and taught by Peg Dunayer in a wool-decorated box. Included in the kit are. Pre-painted box and pre-made crushed shell pincushion, along with all the threads, beads, buttons, fabrics and felt, with everything needed to make a cute accessory.  Kit cost: $10. Students need to bring a battery operated light, scissors for paper and felt and tweezers would be helpful, but not required.  See ASG July newsletter for photo.

Color Wheel Thread Box
A flat peyote beaded color wheel thread box designed and taught by Carol Wallin done in the round to fit the top of a small container. It holds a spool of beading thread, either Nymo or One-G. Kit includes everything you need to bead this container. You will need to bring your usual beading supplies and a battery operated light.  See ASG June newsletter for photo.

Complimentary Card Making Class
Taught by Denise Hall.  Everyone is invited to attend this class! Participants will receive kits to make two cards and a gift tag.

The “Not So Fine Print”:     There will be 15 kits of each project available. All registrations received by July 6th will be treated as equal. If more than 15 people sign up for a class then it will go to lottery. We don’t anticipate this, but you never know!  These classes are available to ASG members. If you are not a member and would like to participate, please allow us to send you a membership form.

Holiday Ornament Exchange
The 2021 Holiday Ornament Exchange will be held at That Thing in July.  Bring your stitched New Year, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick Day, Easter, July 4th, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Winter holidays ornaments.  You will be able to purchase tickets to put into bags for the ornaments of your choice.  There will be prizes for the most popular ornaments, both stitched and beaded.  A drawing will be held for each ornament. Proceeds will benefit the Modena Lyons scholarship fund.

ASG Book Sale
The Guild is in the process of closing the library. The remaining books will be sold at reduced prices. The will lots and lots of FREE magazines and patterns for members to choose from. Donations will be cheerfully accepted!

Stash Sale
Members will have an opportunity to sell your stash! You can sell your items during That Thing in July! Just check the box on your registration form to reserve a table.
